Elders of Kano warn Buhari and Ganduje about the appointment of new emirs



A gathering of Kano older folks under the sponsorship of ‘Companions of Democracy’ have cautioned of genuine emergency regarding the arrangement of new emirs by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The state presently has five emirates: Kano, Rano, Gaya, Karaye, and Bichi. All Emirs have equivalent powers and are on same top of the line status as Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

An announcement on Wednesday together marked by Bashir Tofa, Dr. Usman Bugaje, Dr. Abubakar Siddique Mohammed, Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim, Bilya Bala, Hubert Shaiyen and, Prof. Jibrin Ibrahim, cautioned that the formation of new Emirates could prompt savagery and politicization of customary expert.

The seniors asked President Muhammadu Buhari to call Ganduje to arrange, “to expediently connect on the inversion procedure.”

“Karaye Emirate has eight neighborhood government boards – Karaye, Rogo, Gwarzo, Kabo, Rimingado, Shanon, Madobi, and Garunmalam.

“Bichi Emirate has nine neighborhood government territories – Bichi, Bagwai, Tsanyawa, Shanon, Kunchi, Dambatta, Makoda, Dawakintofa and Tofa.
