Fire destroys INEC office in Jigawa
Flame has demolished the workplace of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Gumel Local Government Area of Jigawa State. NSCDC representative in the state, SC Adamu Shehu, affirmed the occurrence to GISTOK in Dutse.
He clarified that the reason for the flame, which began around 9:30 of Thursday morning, probably won’t be detached with power that was re-established around that time by the power conveyance organization around the territory.
Adamu said the workplace was bulldozed down with everything in it annihilated, including significant archives, furniture, generators, hardware and PCs and other working materials.
He said the inferno last around three hours before it was extinguished totally by security agents, including the State Fire Service, men of security and ordinary guard and some great individuals from the network. In the interim, no loss was recorded as at press time.
