Okorocha was the hopeful of the decision All Progressives Congress in the February 23 Imo West Senatorial race. The Commission retained his endorsement of return after the Presiding Officer had pronounced him victor of the race. INEC asserted the affirmation was made under coercion.

Responding yesterday in Abuja, Festus Okoye, INEC magistrate for data and voter instruction, expressed that however, the two gatherings were in court over the issue, the Commission’s administrator would meet with chiefs to ponder on the topic and settle on the following line of activity. “INEC director will meet one week from now with Commissioners to consider on the most recent letter composed by Okorocha and investigate the issue once more.

The two gatherings are in court. However, the INEC director is outside the nation and the greater part of the officials are on obligation,” Okoye said. The INEC Commissioner further expressed that the Commission was not worried about remarks ascribed to the Governor on the issue, focusing on that it would, in any case, not make any move that is outside the law. “The case is in court. However, we accept what we are doing is as per the law,” Okoye included.
