Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, has lost control of 34 out of 44 nearby government zones in the state.

This pursued the part of the Kano emirate by the State Assembly, and the law marked by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on May 8.

The state currently has five emirates: Kano, Rano, Gaya, Karaye, and Bichi. All Emirs would have equivalent powers and are to be on same five star status as Sanusi.

Breakdown of the five emirates demonstrates that Kano emirate headed by Sanusi has ten nearby governments: Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Dala, Nassarawa, Fagge, Gwale, Kumbotso, Ungogo, Dawakin Kudu and Minjibir.

Kano and Rano emirates will control ten nearby governments each while Gaya, Karaye, and Bichi will control eight, seven and nine neighborhood government territories separately.

Rano emirate will control Rano, Bunkure, Kibiya, Takai, Sumaila, Kura, Doguwa, Tudun Wada, Kiru, Bebeji.

Gaya emirate has Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu, Wudil, Garko, Warawa, Gezawa, Gabasawa LGAs.

Karaye, Rogo, Gwarzo, Kabo Rimin Gado, Madobi, Garun Malam LGAs will be under the Karaye emirate.

Bichi emirate will control Bichi, Bagwai, Shanon, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Makoda, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, Tofa nearby governments.

The new law expresses that the altered Kano Emirate Council will comprise of five emirs, secretary to the state government, the magistrate for neighborhood government and executives of all the nearby government committees.

Individuals from the board will be at any rate two kingmakers from every one of the five Emirates and not over five different individuals to be selected by the senator.

The law included the chairmanship of the board will be on rotational premise among the emirs.
