Senator Isiaka Ajimobi
Executive Governor
State of Oyo.

Excellency, since March 11 of this year and 48 hours after the election of governor, I have observed serious infractions that connote efforts to thwart a smooth transition on May 29, 2019 under the guise of false legitimacy.

I have highlighted some of them to the public through my Campaign office, which include, among others, the deliberate haste to rush new contracts, backed by mobilization, that run into billions of naira, even while other residual issues of greater importance claimed attention.

The instruction to the presidents of LG to clean the stabilization account, which was a strategic saving, is also one of the infractions to which I refer.

I wish to draw your attention to another development in a similar way that is currently being developed by the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board of Oyo State, which continues to make far-reaching plans and even radio announcements regarding the Board’s activities after the May 29, 2019. when it is perfectly clear that the permanence of this government in exercise ends on the date indicated above.

While the President and the board are still well within their rights to perform in that capacity until the end of this administration, however, it is unacceptable and unwise for the board to make long-term plans that go beyond May 29. 2019. with respect to the next hajj operation, since my Administration will not be obliged to accept any of these agreements, including the transportation, accommodation and welfare of pilgrims from Oyo State for the next hajj operations.

Any action executed by the board that will continue after May 29 will be considered as initiated in bad faith.

Therefore, I ask your Excellency, sir, to prevail and reprimand all overly enthusiastic officials who may mistakenly perceive the situation of the lame duck in Oyo State as a Gold Rush.

I thank you for anticipating your maximum and sincere cooperation in this matter ….
